You are beautiful. Yes you!
Maybe not every single thing about you. Like the way you snap harshly at criticism before realizing it was being given to help. Maybe not the sadness that hovers sometimes. And probably not that wonky pinky toe.
But your essence is truly beautiful. Who you are at your core and what you see in the mirror… beauty.
So why is it that we try to hide our beauty from the world?
We wrap up in the protective layers we’ve built to keep the world at bay. To keep the hurt out. To swaddle our souls.
But could it be that the only true way to turn our potential into plans and pleasure is to let our guard down? To allow the layers to gently unfold?
There are endless possibilities we are keeping in that tightly wrapped blossom. The hopes and dreams that sprout up in our hearts throughout our lives are still in there, stuck beneath years of “cant’s” and “not enough’s“. Trapped.
But we hold the power between blossom and bloom. That magic is in our tightly gripped fists.
The trick is to allow ourselves to be vulnerable.
No flower would ever bloom if it was hell-bent on protecting the blossom. The petals would stand guard against it and never unfold.
But there is beauty in risk. In vulnerability. In tenderness.
When we trust our surroundings and the conditions are right, we can loosen our grip. We can be vulnerable and begin sharing bits of our heart and our desires and our dreams. Slowly unfolding each protective layer. Opening our soul to the world outside. Sunshine infusing our essence.
Our beauty is always there. Layers unfolding. Blossoming. Blooming. Quietly beautiful. Open to change.
