Growth is Optional

Growth is optional

Where there is struggle, there is growth. Sometimes.

If. We. Choose. Growth.

Growth is always optional. It is completely up to us to determine whether or not we will accept the challenges that God is placing in our lives.

We can choose resistance. We could decide to hold tightly to the past. We may want to dig our heels in and battle the change with all our might.

The problem with resistance and holding on and digging in, is that it keeps us stuck. Stuck in our situations. Stuck in our heads. And stuck in our hearts.

“God works according to the law of gradual growth, so don’t be discouraged if your progress seems slow.”

~ Joyce Meyer

Oh, but Lord, I am impatient! I desperately want to conquer whatever challenges you place before me swiftly and with ease. The more pain the process causes, the more impatient I become.

But…

The more pain the process causes, the more growth I attain.

I am learning to recognize those moments when I dig in with resistance. And in those moments, I am choosing growth.

What challenges are you facing right now?

Are you choosing an opportunity for growth through your response?

Wishing you blessings and growth in all areas of your life.

Happy day beautiful friends!
