31 Days of Soul Searching – Day 27 {Inspiration}

Day 27

On this 27th day of introspection, I am realizing something very important. We have examined things we don’t love about ourselves and have surfaced some positive ways to change those things. We have also found some things that we crave more of in our lives. Such powerful things to ponder!

But what about the things that are yet to come? The things we will create for our futures? The things that are stirring inside us now, but have not come to fruition?

{Inspiration} is the flame that ignites your passions! It is the beautiful catalyst that allows you to bring about what you dream about.

What is it that you dream about?

It has been said that if you pay attention to where your mind wanders, that is where your heart is and where your deepest desires can be found.

Why is inspiration important to this soul searching process?

For any of us to be able to sustain and share our continued joy and happiness, we need to create lasting fulfillment within ourselves. The only way we can do that is to find ways to bring out the hopes and dreams and desires that carry us happily through our life’s work.

If we are going to fulfill our purpose, we are going to need some inspiration along the way!

What is it that inspires you?

What gets those creative juices flowing?

I am a bit of an inspiration junkie. I look for inspiration everywhere, and can find it almost anywhere. My favorite places to search are…

Nature – never underestimate the power of a glorious sunset, the changing leaves, or the calming and cleansing rain.

Words – the right combination of language strung together can have a powerful effect on your thoughts.

Silence – nothing brings your dreams to the surface better than blocking out the noisy distractions of life and just waiting to see what comes forward.

Sharing Ideas – a good old-fashioned brainstorming session can sure get my juices flowing!

Examples – seeing other people live inspired lives lights a fire in my heart.

These are just a few places that I turn to when I need a little stirring in my soul. Would you share your favorite sources of inspiration?

While you are pondering inspiration, I wonder if you would play along with me for a visualization exercise?

Consider for a moment what your life looks like now. Think of only the things that bring you joy and happiness. Focus only on the positives. What do you see? Who is with you? Be grateful in this moment for the beautiful blessings you have right now, today.

Now move a step forward and envision what your life looks like with your dreams fulfilled. That goal you’ve been working toward is achieved. You have created for yourself the life you’ve always imagined. What do you see there? Who is with you? Feel gratitude for the blessings you are imagining, as though they are already part of your life.

The “what’s” and “who’s” that you saw in your visualization will help you live intentionally to create the next steps of your story. They will serve as guideposts for your dreams and will help you surround yourself with the right people and recognize signs that you are on the right track.

The feeling of gratitude for both your current and future blessings will help you appreciate your journey in a meaningful way. Seeing and feeling what you imagine your life to be like will stir your soul and will encourage your subconscious mind to recreate those visions and feelings in your future.

There is a difference between living your life and living an inspired life.

Simply living is somewhat reactive and at the mercy of whatever may come your way. But living through inspiration is proactive and empowers you to intentionally create beautiful blessings in your life.

We are never too old, too busy, or too tired to dream a new dream!

Always dare to dream. Be inspired!
