Detours & Destinations

Today I am joining the Five Minute Friday writers connecting at Lisa-Jo Baker’s blog

Here’s the deal:  Write for 5 minutes flat on a specific topic!

Here’s today’s topic:  RED!

Here’s the cool catch:  You get to encourage other writers that are linked up too!

Here we go!!!

5-minute-friday-1

STOP!  Yield.  No Right Turns.  Speed Limit 35.  Bump in the Road.  Detour Ahead.

All of these signs are what keeps peace on the road and what guides us all safely to our destinations.  Without direction, there would be utter chaos.  Although without any speed limit, I would be a happy girl and never late!  But I sure would miss the scenery along the way.

Life is much the same.  Stop & go.  Slow & fast.  With many detours and bumps in the road.

Everyone’s journey is different and none of us have all the answers or all the directions to where we are headed.

Something as simple as a bright RED octagon shaped stop sign commands our attention and saves our lives on a daily basis.

What signs are you seeing off the road?  What other clues guide you through life safely?  What red flags show you when to stop and pay attention?

“Sometimes life’s detours are God’s destinations.”

~ Holly Furtick from Elevation’s Sermon Series “Waiting Room”

Life is filled with quiet moments where guidance comes in various forms.  You stop.  You listen.  You change direction.

Maybe a million times in your life you heed to these signs that get you on the right track, traveling down the right road, heading in the right direction, toward your destination.

Watch for the signs.

It’s pretty neat that your blog in and of itself celebrates Red.

Hope to continue to read more from you & am blessed by having read your post today.

I’m stopping by from FMF. This is such a convicting (a a good way) post. I too, rush through life, rarely stopping or allowing for interruptions. I love the Holly Furtick quote and I’m looking forward to listening to that message. I’m encouraged and inspired by your words. Thank you!
